An exhibition featuring some of the best artworks by 2012 Higher School Certificate visual arts students is now on display at the Art Gallery of NSW.
The exhibition is part of the 30th ARTEXPRESS, which showcases the best works of art completed by 246 students from schools across NSW as part of last year’s HSC.
The works will be on display as part of 11 distinct exhibitions across the state, including galleries in Orange, Tamworth, Broken Hill and the Blue Mountains, and two other Sydney galleries.
Students used a variety of mediums—including drawing, painting, photomedia, ceramics, sculpture and textiles—to explore interests and concerns such as culture, personal identity and family relations, world politics and human impact on the environment.
ARTEXPRESS is a joint venture the Board of Studies NSW and the NSW Department of Education and Communities, and is managed by the department’s arts unit.
ARTEXPRESS’ major sponsor is Australia Post. Associate sponsor is S & S Creativity Unlimited. News media partner is The Sydney Morning Herald. Television media partner is TVS. The official ARTEXPRESS carrier is Grace Fine Art. Camera is supplied courtesy of FotoRIESEL.
